We are struggling with the fact that a course section/page can only contain 1 type of content block – i.e. just a TinyMCE with coding, just a SCORM item, just an H5P element, etc. We are used to building robust pages with several types of content on them – so more like a webpage with a title, text, video embed (which we can do in MCE with hard coding) followed by an interaction – like an accordion feature, flip cards with more info, maybe an H5P element, then maybe a SCORM page for engagement - all on the same page/section with the relevant content.
Cypher currently doesn’t allow for that robust page build unless we put in a lot of time and energy to find another tool – like a webpage builder, build in that tool and export/import as an HTML package.
We are struggling with whether or not we can make this work so that it looks the way we want, doesn’t take forever to build a section/page and also doesn’t overwhelm our learners with tiny pieced out “sections” that make course modules look overwhelming.
The “Course” “Welcome” screen has the functionality we’d love to have in our course sections – if the sections could have the normal choices of content types but I haven’t seen that option anywhere else in the platform.
