We have had several learners request the capability to take notes while working in the LMS. Our previous LMS provider had a feature where there was a "notes" tab at the bottom of the screen. The learner could click this to expand a text editor to take notes and save them for the particular module/section they were working in. Those notes could also be exported as .pdf or .docx files. This would be a valuable feature in your platform!
