They partnered with more than 200 leading universities and companies to bring flexible, affordable, job-relevant online learning to individuals and organizations worldwide. Our integration with Coursera provides thousands of courses on a wide variety of topics that you can now access seamlessly via MATRIX.

Before you install the Coursera app on your learning platform, go to https://dev.coursera.com/. Click Sign in in the upper right corner of the screen.

Click Login with SAML. Login to Coursera using your credentials.

Once logged in, click your email in the top right to open the dropdown menu. Click Apps.

To create a new app, click + NEW APP.

Enter the App Name and Description in the Overview section.

In the API section, click Enable for both Coursera For Business and OAuth Credentials.

Click Save.

The API key and secret are now displayed. These are the Client ID and Secret to be used in the CYPHER portal.

You also need the Coursera Org ID, which can be found in the Admin area on the Coursera website. To find the Org ID, navigate to https://www.coursera.org/ and log in. Open the dropdown menu in the top right and click [Your company name] Admin.

In the Admin view, open the dropdown menu and click Settings.

The organization ID appears at the top of this page.

Enabling Coursera integration

Before you start configuring the integration, you need to install the Coursera app in the App Center.

After the app is installed, you will be automatically taken to the Coursera configuration page.

To get started, click the "Edit" button under "Catalog provider".

Enter your "Client ID", "Client Secret", and "Coursera org ID", then click Save.

Once the details are saved, click on the "Test connection" button.

If the connection is successful, a message is displayed at the top of the page.

After making the connection, click on the "Sync now" button.

After syncing the Coursera catalog, click on the "All catalogs" button from the top-right corner.

To enable the Coursera catalog, click the appropriate checkbox.

Here you can access the Coursera configuration page anytime by clicking the cog under Settings.

Using Coursera

After the Coursera catalog is enabled, it will appear as a tab in the Course catalog, next to the default local catalog.

The Coursera catalog is organized into categories that you can browse just like your local catalog. On the tiles is displayed the number of items in each category. To see the courses in a category, click on its tile.

The course tiles display the title and the description of the course.

If you click on the course tile, you will be taken to its overview page, where you'll see its full description. To enroll in a course, click the Enroll button.

If you have permission and you want to configure the course before anyone enrolls, click the cog in the "Info" box on the overview page.

Here you can configure the course just like any other MATRIX course. You can add automation actions, change the tabs, edit the basic settings, and more.

Learner view

When a user enrolls in the course, they will first see its splash page. To access the course, click the "Continue to course" button.

To course will be loaded, and you can start it by clicking the "Create membership" button.

The Coursera courses you are enrolled in will appear in the Home/Enrolled area of your account, just like any other course.
