Panopto is a software that provides lecture recording, screencasting, video streaming, and video content management, tools that are often used in E-learning environments. Panopto comes with a web-based content management system, a web-based media editor, the ability to search within videos, and means for integrating Panopto with learning management systems.
The Panopto integration enables you to add Panopto videos as resources to your learning portal and share it with your learners. If the Panopto integration is enabled you can also add videos to Panopto via your portal.
Basic LTI provides a standard way to integrate external learning tools such as Panopto into an LMS and pass information about users and their rights/permissions back and forth between the Panopto Server, and the LMS. Before enabling Panopto integration with your learning portal first you have to configure Panopto using Basic LTI. In order to do this, you will need a Panopto account.
To start configuring Panopto using Basic LTI, log in as an administrator and visit the System area.
In the System area, go to Identity Providers and click Add Provider.
Select BLTI as Provider Type, then enter the required information. After you entered the information click Save.
After you finished configuring Panopto with Basic LTI, copy the Instance Name and Application Key. This information will be used as LTI_key and LTI_secret when enabling Panopto integration with your portal.

When enabling the Panopto integration, login to your learning portal, go to Admin/App center and install the Panopto app.
After installing the Panopto app from the App center, click the Configure icon or go to Admin/Panopto and click Configure.
Enter the URL. For example: https://(servername)/Panopto/BasicLTI/BasicLTILanding.aspxhttp://basicltilanding.aspx%22/ where you replace "(servername)" with the URL of your Panopto Server. Enter the Lti_key (Instance Name from Panopto), the Lti_secret (Application Key from Panopto), your Panopto username and password, then click Save.
After you enabled the Panopto integration, you can start adding Panopto videos and audio files to the Resources catalog and also as resources within courses. To add a Panopto file, go to the Resources catalog or visit the Resources area in a course and click Add.
Select File from the available options.
Click on Panopto Video.
If you have files on Panopto, you can browse your folders and select the file you want to add to the Resources catalog.
Select the file then click Insert.
Enter the name and description for the file, select the Library then click Save.
After you added a Panopto file to the Resources catalog, you can change it or delete it using the buttons in the upper-right corner.
If you have Panopto integration enabled, you can upload files directly to Panopto using your portal. To upload a video, go to the Resources catalog, click Add and select File from the available options.
In the Panopto Video tab, under Upload, you have the option to upload video and audio files from your computer.
In the Record tab, you have the possibility to record videos directly to Panopto. Enter the name of the recording, then click Record. Note that in order to record a video you have to install Panopto on your computer.
The Panopto recorder will launch and you can start recording your PowerPoint presentation or capture your screen.
To add Panopto videos to the course, go to the Resources tab of the course, click Add and select File.
Click on Panopto Video.
If you have files on Panopto, you can browse your folders and select the file you want to add to the Course resources.
Select the file then click Insert.
Enter the name and description for the file, select the Subject and Library, then click Save.
In the Panopto Video tab, under Upload, you have the option to upload video and audio files from your computer to the course folder on Panopto.
Administrators and Instructors can enable/disable the Panopto tab for a course via Admin/Configure/Tabs.
To see all the videos uploaded to the course folder on Panopto, visit the Panopto tab in the left bar. Here you can manage your files, you can share your files and you can upload new files to Panopto.
If the Resources catalog was enabled for learners via Admin/Policies, they can access the Panopto videos shared with them by visiting the Resources catalog from the left bar.
In the Resources catalog, the Panopto videos can be accessed in the File category.
If the Panopto video was uploaded as a resource in a particular course, learners can see the video by visiting the Resources tab of the course.
If a particular Panopto video wasn't shared with the learners, they can request access by clicking the "Request Access" link.
If the Panopto tab was enabled via Admin/Configure/Tabs, learners can access it from the left bar of the course.
Here they can see the Panopto videos uploaded in the course folder and they can access all the videos that were shared with them.
