Notifications

Overview

The platform includes a robust notifications system that provides you relevant information when you need it. Notifications include announcements, course completions, group additions, awards and more.

To view notifications:

1. Click the bell icon.
   
1. If you have unread notifications, their number is indicated over the bell icon. 
   
2. A dropdown list will open with your latest notifications.
   

Please note that notifications are stored for 1 month. 

Unread notifications are marked with an X. 

1. To mark all notifications as read, click Mark all as read. 
   
2. To see all notifications click See all.
   

If you click See all, a complete list of notifications display. To manage your notifications:

1. Select the notifications you have read and click Mark as read.
   
2. To delete notifications:
   
1. Select notifications and click Delete.
   
2. To delete all notifications, click Clear.
   

Configure notifications

You can configure your notifications by event and notification method. To configure your notification settings:

1. Click the bell icon. 
   
2. Click Configure.
   

All notification events display, such as friend requests, game awards, and much more. The Configure tab allows you opt in or out of receiving email and/or mobile notifications.

1. Adjust which events trigger email notifications by checking/unchecking the appropriate boxes in the Email column.
   
2. Adjust which events trigger mobile notifications by checking/unchecking the appropriate boxes in the Mobile column.
   
1. Note that this only applies if your platform offers a mobile application.

In order to receive email notifications, you must add an email address to your profile. 

An example of an email notification is shown below.

1. Click the link for the web version to open the notification in your platform.
   
2. Click the link to configure notifications to open the Configure tab for notifications in the platform.
   

If you click the link to configure notifications, the notifications Configure tab will display.  

1. If you do not want to receive email notifications for this type of event, uncheck the appropriate box.
   
1. In the example below the Game award notification is triggering an email notification any time the user earns points in a game.
