Security & Spam Prevention Concern – Contact Form Validation and Dropdown Requirement

Subject: Security & Spam Prevention Concern – Contact Form Validation and Dropdown Requirement

Hello CYPHER Product Team,

I would like to formally submit a suggestion and concern regarding the current Contact Page functionality within the portal system.

At the moment, the Contact Page form does not allow administrators to create required dropdown fields or apply validation logic to custom inquiry categories. This limitation creates a significant spam prevention and security concern for organizations using the LMS publicly.

Our organization has recently experienced a growing number of automated spam submissions and bot-generated inquiries through the public Contact form. Because the current form lacks support for required dropdown selections, conditional validation, or custom anti-spam filtering logic, there is currently no effective way to distinguish legitimate inquiries from automated or malicious submissions.

This issue creates several operational and security risks, including:

• Increased spam and automated bot submissions
• Risk of phishing or malicious content being submitted through the portal
• Administrative inefficiency due to manual filtering of invalid inquiries
• Reduced effectiveness of lead generation and customer support workflows
• Potential reputation and deliverability issues when contact workflows integrate with email automation systems

For organizations using CYPHER LMS for commercial education, continuing education, licensing, or public enrollment funnels, this limitation affects not only usability but also operational security and marketing workflow integrity.

At minimum, it would be extremely valuable to support:

  1. Required dropdown fields on Contact forms
  2. Field validation logic
  3. Conditional routing or categorization of inquiries
  4. Basic anti-spam protections tied to inquiry types
  5. Ability to trigger workflows or integrations based on selected inquiry category

In our specific use case, we need to separate inquiries related to:
• New student enrollment
• Real estate licensing information
• Continuing education
• Technical support
• Payment issues

Without this functionality, all inquiries arrive indistinguishably, making automation and spam filtering significantly more difficult.

Given the increasing importance of security, lead quality, and workflow automation in modern LMS environments, I strongly recommend that this enhancement be considered for a future roadmap release.

Thank you for your consideration and continued support.

Sincerely,

Jose Cruz
