While most users are embracing the new UI design, we are getting lots of complaints from Admins and Instructors that use the search filter on a regular basis.  Having to click on the magnifying glass just to open search and then click on filter is pretty annoying.  The team strongly suggests defaulting to an open field, or at least to enable them to access filters with one click.
