I give students 11 quizzes over the course of the semester but grade them on 8 for the 30% of the total final grade based on the quizzes. This is conceived as a way of designing some tolerance into the grading to acknowledge that students might need some time to get used to the course, get colds, have conflicts with other course requirements, etc. It'd be great if there was a solution to this that doesn't involve a workaround like setting each quiz as non-graded or ignore and then creating an assignment titled "Best 8 of 11 Quizzes." I can get Canvas to do this by excusing individual students' assignments, which then aren't used to calculate the grade for the assignment group percentage.

I'm writing this here because I was told by NEO support that this isn't possible at the moment.
