Courses and classes

Overview

A course or class is a structured set of learning content, learning activities and assessments that will help you achieve your learning objectives.
Classes and courses are the primary way you will consume content on the platform.
InfoThe business platform defaults to the term courses, and the academia platform defaults to the term classes. The terms are interchangeable in this article. 
To begin a course or class, you must be enrolled in it. 

Accessing your enrolled courses or classes

There are two ways to access your enrolled courses or classes.

1. On the Dashboard, the Courses/Classes widget automatically displays. 
  1. The widget contains a preview of enrolled, compliance and completed courses.
  2. Select the right arrow to scroll through the list of courses.

The Courses widget also includes a three dot menu which allows you to:
  1. Enroll in additional courses.
  2. View the entire site Catalog.
  3. Display courses as a List view.
  4. Maximize the course widget display.

2. You can also access your enrolled courses by selecting Courses/Classes from the primary navigation bar.

Enrolling in a class or course

There are three ways to enroll in a class or course:

 1. You can view all available courses by clicking Catalog on the primary navigation menu.
  1. Categories will display.
  2. After clicking a category, courses and learning paths will display.
  3. Associated course cost or Free will display on the tile for each course or learning path.
  4. After clicking a course or learning path, you can choose to enroll or purchase the course.

2. You can search for a specific course through the Search bar. 
  1. Type all or part of a course name into the search bar.
  2. Search results will automatically display below the search bar.
  3. Click the most applicable course, or click View more to see additional courses.
  4. After clicking a course or learning path, you can choose to enroll or purchase the course.

3. If you know the course's access code, you can directly enroll.
  1. Click Courses on the primary navigation menu.
  2. Click Enroll.
  3. You will prompted for the course access code.

Course and class basics

Course content is broken into modules. When you select a course, the associated modules will display, along with the modules secondary navigation menu. Access the Modules article to learn more.

Note: Some courses include an additional splash page. If your course includes a splash page, click Continue to course to access the modules or lessons.

Purchasing a class or course

Some courses include a price, and must be purchased in order to access. To purchase a course:

  1. Click Catalog from the primary navigation menu.
  2. Click the course tile.
  3. Click the Purchase for $xx.xx button.
