Alexa

Overview

Info
This feature is only available for CYPHER for Academia.

Our Alexa integration allows users to quickly find useful information from their learning platform while using Alexa. To enable the feature for your site, go to Admin/App Center, and install the Alexa app.

Configuring the integration

After the administrator installed the app, visit the Setting area of your profile to generate a unique login key for Alexa. Click the icon under integrations to generate the 6-character login key.

The generated code is unique and can be used once to connect Alexa to your NEO account. Please note that the code has 1-hour validity.

After generating the key, you need to enable the NEO LMS skill on your Amazon account. Please note that you have to be over 13 to use this skill.

When you click Enable a page will open where you can enter the key then click Login.

You have to allow Alexa to access the specified information from your NEO account by clicking Grant.

If Alexa was successfully linked to your account, a confirmation message is displayed.

You can click "Disable Skill" to unlink Alexa from your NEO account.

Enabling the integration from the app

First, you have to download and install the Amazon Alexa from the Play Store or Google Play. After you configured the Alexa app, open it, and click the More icon in the bottom right corner.

Select Skills & Games from the list.

Then click the search icon in the header.

Here you can search for the NEO LMS skill.

Click the NEO LMS skill from the search results.

To enable the NEO LMS skill, click the “Enable to use” button.

When you click the button a page will open where you can enter the key generated in the Profile Settings area of your NEO account, then click Login.
