The platform allows you to upload SCORM packages to the platform to use directly within courses, as resources, and as SCORM assessments.
When creating SCORM packages, tools such as Articulate Storyline or Adobe Captivate are recommended to ensure that the SCORM packages are 100% valid.
Please note that you have to enable third-party cookies for your browser in order to run SCORM packages. Click https://www.thewindowsclub.com/block-allow-third-party-cookies-in-ie-chrome-firefox-opera to learn how to enable third-party cookies for different browsers. If you don't enable third-party cookies, an error may occur when accessing SCORM packages, stating the system was unable to get LMS API.
Also, note that when administrators access other users' accounts in "stealth mode" and click on the SCORM file, the progress will be recorded. Stealth mode has some limitations when it comes to preventing SCORM progress from being recorded.
To start using SCORM packages, first, go to Admin/App center and install SCORM.
To add a SCORM package, go to the Resources tab, then click Add and select SCORM.
Enter a name and description, select the library for the SCORM package, upload the file from your computer, then click Save.
You will receive a notification when the upload is complete.
Click on the link in the message to see the overview page of the SCORM package.
In the Browse tab of the SCORM package, you can see its different components.
In the Sections tab, you can see the sections that are using the SCORM package.
In the Assessments tab, you can see the Assessments that are using the SCORM package.
To add a SCORM section, go to a module, then click Add.
Select SCORM from the Content tab.
Then select whether you want to upload a new SCORM package or reuse an existing one from a library.
To reuse an existing SCORM package, click Existing, then select the SCORM package from a library and click Submit. The SCORM section is immediately displayed in the module.
To edit its title, click Edit. To edit its display properties, visit the Options tab. You can set the size of the frame, whether it's launched in its own window, whether a navigation bar is displayed, and more.
In the Progress tab, you can see the individual progress of each learner on the SCORM module. Here you can reset the learner's progress in the SCORM section. If you click the Reset icon and then confirm, it flushes the learner's current SCORM session for that package so that they can start it over again.
In the Completion tab, you can add completion time estimates and rules that should be performed when a section is completed.
To add a new rule, click Add under Completion actions. A pop-up will open with the following options:
For more details on how to add rules, visit the Rules topic.
In the Tags tab, you can tag optional SCORM sections, and then you can configure modules to require a certain number of optional sections to be completed in order for the module to be completed.
For more details on how to tag sections, visit the Tags topic.
A SCORM assessment captures the results of a SCORM item (SCO). If the SCORM item is a quiz, a SCORM assessment will capture its questions, responses, and scores. To add a SCORM assessment, click Add, then select SCORM from the Assessments tab of the pop-up.
Then select whether you want to upload a new SCORM package or reuse an existing one from a library.
To reuse an existing SCORM package, select the package from the list.
Then fill in the details for the assessment and click Save.
In some cases, a SCORM package can contain more than one SCORM item that can be used as an assessment. You can select which SCORM item to use when creating or editing the SCORM assessment.
When you go to a SCORM package, you can see its version history.
If you click "Upload new version", you can upload a new version of the SCORM package that will be used by all SCORM sections and SCORM assessments that are associated with the current version of the SCORM package.
Once the new version has been uploaded, you'll get a notification with a link to the new version of the SCORM package. The old version is still kept in the system, and the new version will have "Version X" added to its name:
At this point, the SCORM sections and SCORM assessments will use the new version of the SCORM package, and the old version of the SCORM package will not be used by any SCORM sections or SCORM assessments.
