Overview

Subjects are categories of study fields that can be set for classes, class templates, resources, and groups.  Our system has a large number of built-in subjects from various fields. To see all the subjects, go to Admin/Subjects.  Each subject has its own picture and indicates the number of classes and class templates that use it.

Customizing subjects

Administrators can customize the subject hierarchy for the school by checking/unchecking the subjects they wish to appear in the Subject drop-down that appears when teachers create a Class or Resource.

By default, all subjects in the hierarchy are enabled, so we recommend that you use this feature to trim down the hierarchy so that only those subjects that are applicable to the school are displayed.

If you uncheck a subject but not its subtopic, the subtopic rises to the same level as the unchecked subject.
