CYPHER Agent knowledge base
Overview
The Agent knowledge base allows you to upload documents, videos, PowerPoint decks and more to create your own library of knowledge that can be utilized by
CYPHER Agent for learners. This powerful new feature makes CYPHER Agent smarter about your organization and more useful than ever before.
Enabling Agent knowledge base
To use Agent knowledge base, it must first be enabled by administrators. To enable Agent knowledge base, administrators:
- Click Admin from the primary navigation menu.
- Click CYPHER Agent from the fly-out menu.
- Click the Features tab.
- Select the Enable knowledge base checkbox.

Adding content to the Agent knowledge base
To add content to the Agent knowledge base, first, upload the content as a Resource. You can add existing Resources to the knowledge base, or upload new files as Resources. To upload content as a Resource:
- Click Resources from the primary navigation menu.
- Click + Add from the fly-out menu.
- Select File from the Add resource pop-up.
- Upload your file. The following file types are supported:
- doc, docx, mp4 video, ppt, pptx, pdf, txt
Once your file has been uploaded, access the file's Details page. To access a resource's Details page:
- Click Resources from the primary navigation menu.
- Click Catalog from the fly-out menu.
- Use the Search widget in the right panel to locate the resource.
- Click the Resource tile.
- Click Details.
The resource Details page displays. To add the resource to your Agent knowledge base:
- Locate the Agent knowledge base widget in the right panel.
- Click Sync.
- The file status will change to 'In progress' while it is syncing to the Agent knowledge base.
When the file has been added to the Agent knowledge base, the sync date will display, and the Enabled status will be set to True.
- Click Re-Sync if you have made changes to the file and want to Re-sync it with the Agent knowledge base.
- Click Disable to keep the document in the Agent knowledge base, but disable the information from being retrieved by CYPHER Agent.
- Click Remove to completely remove the document from the Agent knowledge base.
Managing the Agent knowledge base
Adding documents to the Agent knowledge base broadens the scope of information used by CYPHER Agent for learners, and helps customize the tool to your organization. When learners ask CYPHER Agent a question, CYPHER Agent will review your internal Agent knowledge base for information, helping to create a custom lesson that is relevant to your organization.
To quickly review the documents that are a part of your Agent knowledge base:
- Click Resources from the primary navigation menu.
- Click Catalog from the fly-out menu.
- Select the Yes checkbox below Agent knowledge base in the Search widget.
All documents that are a part of your Agent knowledge base display.
