Overview
The platform allows you to create notes for learners at a course and class level. The notes appear in score reports, and you can determine if the note will be visible to the learner.

Please note that CYPHER for business uses the term learner. CYPHER for academia uses the term student. The terms learner and student are interchangeable in this article.
Adding notes
To add a learner note:
- Access a course or class.
- Click Learners on the course/class navigation menu.
- Click the number or - icon in a learner's Notes column.
The learner's Notes tab displays.
- Click + Add to create a note.
- Enter a note subject and message.
- You can use the HTML editor to format the note, which allows you to add images, links, and more!
- Select Show parents? to allow parents to view the note.
- Select Show learner? to allow the learner to view the note.
- Click Save.
Viewing notes
To see a summary of notes left about a learner:
- Access a course or class.
- Click Learners on the course/class navigation menu.
- Click the number in the learner's Notes column.
- Please note that depending on the set up of your table, you may need to click the More icon to view the Notes column.
All notes created for the learner in the current course display.
- Click Edit to edit a note.
- Click Delete to delete a note.
